I’m new here and currently waiting for admin approval, but I’ve already had the chance to read many great stories and get a feel for this community. It feels warm and familiar, which also reminds me how important safety and privacy are moving forward.
I work closely with AI, and one area that genuinely concerns me is AI-powered geolocation, especially tools like GeoSpy. From a single image—sometimes just a building and a tree—these systems can often identify locations with surprising accuracy, down to neighborhoods or streets.
Unique architecture, landmarks, or background details in photos and videos can unintentionally reveal where someone lives or spends time. In the wrong hands, even small geographic clues can be misused.
I’m not pointing to any specific post or person—just sharing this to raise awareness. As AI continues to advance, being mindful of what we share visually is becoming more important than ever.
